 Nursery

Sunday Morning

Nursery is an age-appropriate child-care for parents who attend the Sunday morning worship.  Young children learn about God in a loving environment and enjoy play (art, reading, blocks and puzzles). A snack is provided each week.

The nursery is comprised of three age groups.

  • Infant I is birth - twelve months
  • Infant II is 12-24 months
  • Toddler is ages 24-48 months

Sick Child Policy

We realize that sick children can be difficult on parents and on everyone’s schedule, and the last thing you want is for your child to ‘catch’ something while in our care.  This requires that our nursery have the healthiest environment possible.  Our custodial staff sanitizes and disinfects all toys and surfaces, in both nurseries, each time they are used. But, the best way to prevent illness is to prevent exposure.  In order to help eliminate the spreading of colds, flu, and other childhood sicknesses, we request that everyone using the nursery abide by the following policy:

Please keep your child at home if any one of the following are true:

  1. Your child has a fever or has had a fever in the past 24 hours.
  2. Your child has vomited or had diarrhea in the past 24 hours.
  3. Your child has any facial secretions that are not clear (eyes, nose)
  4. Your child has “crusty” discharge from nose or eyes
  5. Your child has been coughing frequently

A quick health check will be conducted when you bring your child to the nursery.  A child will not be admitted with any of the above symptoms.

Occasionally, a baby or toddler develops symptoms of illness while in the nursery.  If any of the following symptoms appear, the caregiver will page or contact the parent and request that the child is taken home for his or her own comfort and health:

 Particular fussiness
Crying for more than 10 minutes
Crying continually as if in pain (Babies may indicate pain by  drawing their legs up to their abdomens while crying)
Lethargic appearance
Flushed face or sudden rash
Coughs frequently and sounds very congested
Discharge from nose or eyes is not clear in color
Overly warm to the touch

Please note that if a child has recently been ill and is no longer contagious (children should be on an antibiotic for at least 24 hours before he or she is no longer contagious) but still receives medication, ONLY PARENTS are to administer the medication.  Any medication brought by the parents should be stored properly away from the reach of children.

Thank you for letting us care for and love your child.  Please do not hesitate to call the office if you have any questions or comments about the nursery.
