Leadership Team Information
|
Thank you for your interest!
As many of you know, Kim Marcotte and her family are moving. Kim's outstanding leadership along with her husband Paul and three awesome kids Sara, Jyl and Donny have blessed many of our children with years of Bible-based music, dance and drama.
In order to continue to this vibrant ministry, we need a team of people to stand in the gap and take hold of the blessing and calling to minister the love of Jesus to our precious children. I have met with Kim and together we have created assignments in 5 main categories.
- Music and Drama Coordinators (these volunteers will teach the simple singing and acting parts to the kids)
- Dance and Tumbling Instructor (for the choreographing the musical selections)
- Scheduling Coordinators (leaders who will assign rehearsal & performances dates and schedule tasks for volunteer workers)
- Recruitment & Publicity Coordinators (for recruiting parents to bring their children and creating the photocopied fliers to publicize additional weekly updates for the parents and church body)
- Sets, Props & Costume Coordinators (for organizing the production stage, and costumes)
Our prayer is that God will call one or two people to be in-charge of each specific category. The main idea is to share the responsibilities among several people in order to fulfill the mission. Below is an overview of KLFC and each leadership team assignment.
KLFC Overview:
- Ages 1st grade through 7th grade, including GEFC and children from other communities
- No "try-outs" ...all children are gifts from God, no matter what their talent level may be.
- Cost...we request a small donation for the KLFC t-shirts and occasional help with snacks
- Rehearsals are Monday's from 6:00 pm - 7:45 pm. Notify ahead if you will be absent.
5 Leadership Descriptions / Overviews:
Music & Drama Coordinators: (1 or 2 people)
- Order preview music from the internet (Clysdale, Kathy Hill, Nan & Dennis Allen)
- Select a musical that is not too difficult, the order 5 books, accompaniment sound track and rehearsal / practice CD's.
- Listen repeatedly to the musical...envision how it would be on the stage
- Send home a lyrics sheet and rehearsal CD (they should return it to the church after the musical is finished)
- Conduct each rehearsal
- Prepare a short devotional for each rehearsal including memory verses that correspond with the song themes... (several kids can participate by quoting scripture before the performances)
Dance and Tumbling Instructor: (1 person)
- Choreograph and instruct the movement for songs in the musical
- Teach tumbling to the kids in rehearsals (helps get their energy out)
- Optional performance of tumbling after the musical production

- Help occasionally with making copies, fliers, snacks or other miscellaneous helps
Scheduling Coordinators: (1 or 2 people)
- Select the date for the musical and dress rehearsals with Debbie Harlukowicz & Joshua Rupp
- Decide with Joshua how often the kids will sing during Sunday morning worship services in that semester
- Develop a parent sign-up sheet for snacks and drinks that are needed each rehearsal
- Schedule one performance at the Aspen Ridge Retirement Home and the Vanderbilt Community Church (remind the Music Coordinator that these facilities have no sound and require karaoke-type amplification)
- Print a master schedule of rehearsals & performances and give to church office to duplicate for all KLFC parents
- Be sure that kids and parents know when to arrive for dress rehearsals and performances... Secure a church key if needed for entrance to the facility during special Friday night or Saturday rehearsals
- Help occasionally with rehearsal "filler" time using games, activities, stories and/or prayer
Recruitment and Publicity Coordinators: (1 or 2 people)

Sets, Props & Costumes Coordinators: (2 or more people)
- Prepare/draw a KLFC "rules poster" for the kids to remember the rehearsal guidelines
