 Sunday School
Sunday school is offered for children ages 2 years old thru 12th grade.  Children should attend the class level that they currently attend in school.

Our classes are broken down so children can be taught at their own level. We have some of the best teachers that come prepared to teach and have fun with the kids.

Nursery: 2 year olds: We believe it is never too young to start teaching and learning God’s word. We do not look at this as a babysitting job, but as a privilege to teach our kids. Ann and Tony Olson are a terrific husband and wife team working together to  tell a Bible story to the children. They also have an activity that goes along with the story. Children have fun learning interactive Bible songs and of course there is a snack time. It is truly a blessing to see their eyes light up to learn more about God!

Preschool: 3 year old: This exciting class is taught by Dawn Summerland and Natalie Sefton. Together they teach the children about God. They have a craft that goes along with the story. Children learn Bible songs through repetition and motions. Kids are excited to learn about God in this class.

Preschool - 4 year olds (by December 1st) through Pre-Kindergarten: Here is a fun class taught by Mrs. Julia Rupp and Tami Keen.  They teach songs to the kids as they have fun singing and playing musical instruments.   Mrs. Rupp makes the Bible stories come alive with the kid’s involvement. They have an exciting craft time every week. She teaches the kids memory verses through repletion and hand motions. Yes, there is still time for snacks. Kids are always excited to come back the following week to recite their verses that they have worked on memorizing for the week.

Kindergarten: Our kindergarten class is taught by Mrs. Wendy Robinson. She likes to teach the Bible story in a  variety of ways. She has a wonderful helper Mrs. Connie Meekma. Together they have different centers for the kids to learn and move about. One center is an activity center for the kids to complete an activity, that goes along with the story. The other center is for reciting memory verses and to help those who need help memorizing their verses. Both of these ladies have a wonderful heart to teach our children the Good News.

1st Grade: Mrs. Kristy Kent is a fun loving teacher who knows how to teach a bible story in an exciting way. She can connect with the kids on their level.  Karen Farina and Holly Matewicz listen to the students that have memorized their memory verse. Kids will feel the warm and cozy atmosphere as they walk into the room.

2nd Grade: Second grade Sunday school kids are co-taught by Earl and Susan Beyer. This is an awesome husband and wife team working together to teach the Word of God.  Susan does a great job telling the kids Bible stories with a variety of visuals. They help the kids learn and memory verses through repetition, puzzles, games, or fun worksheets. Susan always has a fun time with the kids while Earl is listening to the kids reciting the verses they have memorized.

3rd grade: We are blessed to have Mrs. Valerie House teach our 3rd grade students. She has great teaching skills. She has the kids read along with their Bibles as she tells the story. She also encourages the kids to memorize a key memory verse from the story to be repeated the following week. She comes up with great games and activities for the kids to learn their Awana memory verses. She has a different individual awards as they say their verses. As the class reaches a certain goal of memory verses they get an “Ice cream” party.

4th grade: We are privileged to have Mrs. Colleen Cerak teach our 4th graders. She has a real teacher’s heart. She has been teaching this class for a number of years. The kids enjoy the way she can make the story applicable in today’s world with visuals and props. She stars her class off with a snack then moves into the Bible lesson. While the kids are doing their craft or activity she listens to them say their memory verses from their Awana books. If students need extra help in memorizing she is always willing to help them too.

5th – 6th Grade Boys: Mr. George Bradstreet teaches our 5th & 6th Grade boys. He is awesome with this age group. He teaches them on a level they can relate to. He not only teaches a Bible story, he has activities for them to do too. They work on their Awana books in memorizing Life Scripture verses. There are choices of prizes for the student as they recite their verses.

5th & 6th Grade Girls: Girls enjoy coming together with other girls to learn. Mrs. Jan Bailey has fun teaching our young girls. She starts her class off with the girl’s reciting their memory verses they have memorized in their Awana books, then she moves into her lesson. She also teaches on “life lessons”  memory verses. Each girl received a Bible bookmark with a scripture verse written on it. As they memorized the verse Mrs. Bailey will write another verse to memorize. When the book mark is filled up they get a special prize from Mrs. Bailey.

Junior High – 7th & 8th grade: Doug and Shelly Curtis co-teach this class. They are a great couple working together to present the Bible to our Junior High kids. Students take home 4 days of devotionals to work on during the week. Students that return their completed pages earn different prizes. In addition there are scripture verses to memorize. Students have fun learning and socializing with each other in this class.

High School – 9th grade through 12th grade: Our High School class is taught by Mr. Gary House and Mr. Emerson Steffes. They co-teach by alternating on a monthly basis. They do an inductive Bible Study using the Gospel Light curriculum. They are currently doing a study on “The Christian Life”. There are devotionals that the students can take home to work on during the week to reiterate the lesson. This is a great and easily way to spend more time with God.

Mr. Kevin Farina is our memory verse station person. He helps with all classes 3rd through 6th grade in listening to the children recite their memory verses.
